Carmila Beach

A short drive past roadside mango trees and fields of sugarcane brings you to Carmila Beach, a long expanse of unspoilt beach fringed by sub-tropical rainforest.

Beachcombing and shell collecting are a perfect way to unwind after your highway travelling.

Bird Life

Carmila is also home to an array of bird life with Jabirus and Bush Turkeys most active at dawn and dusk.

Boat Ramp

The boat ramp at Carmila Creek has easy access to some of the best fishing along the coast with sunset fishing particularly good for barramundi, mangrove jack, trevally and flathead. Tasty mud crabs can be found here as well.

Sarina Sugar Shed

The award-winning Sarina Sugar Shed is only 72km north of Carmila and offers guided tours of the unique miniature working sugar mill and distillery.

Flaggy Rock

Hike on foot or take a 4WD excursion up to Flaggy Rock Bluff for 360 degree views of the Coral Sea and rural horizons.
